Transport Manager
I have been working in logistics for eight years; I was drawn to this industry for the advanced opportunity and ability to learn new and exciting things!
In 2014 I joined the Allied Seafreight family working in the Transport team where I have learned fleet control. In this role I communicate daily with customers and truck drivers, co-coordinating deliveries to ensure the best service possible.
I have a strong worth ethic, ability to work under pressure and love working in a team environment!
Outside of work I enjoy nature walks, water sports and long brunches with my girlfirends.
Transport Co-Ordinator
I am a relative newbie to the Allied Seafreight family, having joined in May 2018.
While I am also new to the transport and logistics industry, I have been able to bring much that I learnt from managing the bakery department within supermarkets.
My goal is for every customer to feel like they are number one. I am known for my can-do attitude and everything I do is designed to ensure that customer’s items are delivered safely and on time.
Away from work I enjoy spending time with my fiancée and my 2-year old boy.
Operations Manager
I started working in transport when I was 18. Ten years later I took a package and bought a fish shop café in Melbourne’s inner west. It was during this time that a friend asked me if l wanted to meet the owners of a family-owned transport company in Brooklyn.
From the moment I met Bill and Janice, I felt a good vibe and wanted to join the company.
After almost 10 years with the business, and proudly being promoted to Operations Manager, this feeling continues to this day and is the reason why we have clients and staff stay with us for years (in some case, decades).
When I’m not working, my wife of 24 years and my two boys keep me busy. We enjoy our weekends jet skiing in Nagambie.
Warehouse Co-Ordinator
I am a warehouse coordinator, responsible for managing our key accounts.
I have spent my working life in various warehousing, transport and customer service roles.
People who know me say I am a team player and welcome my ability to build strong relationships with both customers and fellow staff.
When I’m not at work I love a round of golf, horse racing and spending time with my two adult children. Most of the time I am up for anything, which is just as well as I’m also a keen Collingwood FC supporter.
Administration Manager
I have been a member of the Allied Seafreight family since 2000.
As Administration Manager, my primary task is to assist Janice with the financials in the business.
Every day I’m interacting with colleagues and clients and customers via telephone and face-to-face and even after 20 years in the industry I am continuing to meet wonderful people.
I care deeply about creating a positive workplace culture and am always looking for ways to improve how we operate.
In 2012 I was awarded the David Hay Scholarship and completed a Diploma in Logistics and Diploma of Purchasing, both with High Distinction Average, at Victoria University.
I’m always open to having a coffee and talking about all things logistics.
Administration Co-Ordinator
I have been part of the Allied Seafreight family for some ten years.
As Administration Coordinator, I am responsible for processing invoices, handling any clerical and administrative task that comes my way, as well as being a point of contact and link between the company and our clients, drivers, suppliers and partners. This plays to my strength, as I am known for being a people-person: I like making people feel comfortable.
I am utmost passionate about my two children and family. I enjoy the outdoors, and love going camping with my family.
Junior Accountant / Quality Manager
I started with Allied Seafreight in 2014 as a warehouse coordinator processing and dispatching orders.
I have always been fond of numbers and I’ve been privileged to have the support of Bill and Janice in supporting me to follow this passion, including my current studies for a Masters of Professional Accounting.
Today I am a junior accountant with responsibility for financial reporting and accounts payable and receivable.
In 2017 I had the opportunity to be trained in ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management) and since then have had the pleasure of working closely with Bill to ensure we have the best food safety management system.
General Manager
I originally started work in travel and tourism sector but I was always interested in logistics due to Dad’s passion for the sector.
In 1994 my parents offered the opportunity to join the new family business, where I spent the next 25 years learning the business from the ground up. Along the way, I also returned to tertiary studies, completing a post graduate degree in business.
Today I am delighted to lead a team of people that I consider part of the company’s extended family. Fostering an environment where people enjoy coming to work is so important; indeed, one of my greatest pleasures is watching the careers of my team grow.
I am proud to be one of only a handful woman leading a transport and logistics company in Victoria. I am passionate about the industry and strive for continual improvements in our business. My goal is to create successful partnerships with our clients based on service excellence underpinned by our family business values.
I aim to live life to the fullest. I have three beautiful children and enjoy the demands of being a working mother and running a thriving business. I love travel, keeping fit and snow sports with my kids
Director
I started Allied Seafreight in 1994.
I believed that with hard work, quality service and loyalty to staff and customers I could build a successful business. I am delighted to see these values hold true today.
I am immensely proud to see our daughter, Janice, now heading up Allied Seafreight, one of only a handful of women to lead a transport and logistics company in Australia.
I am also honoured to work with our staff, all of which I view as part of my extended family. I am now semi-retired and am enjoying being a golfer, fisherman, spending time with my grandchildren and travelling.
But with some 52-years’ experience in transport and logistics across Ireland, mainland Europe and Australia, I still love the industry and continue to take an active interest in all strategic and quality assurance matters, and being top honcho when Janice is not around!
